Journalists take the stage during the showcases of the International Live Journalism Festival. Four collectives from all over the world publish their reporting by performing it live before their audience.
Journalists are becoming more openly subjective, expressing emotions and demonstrating personal commitment to the topics they cover, including a shift towards multi-perspective journalism, which presents diverse viewpoints rather than a single, factual narrative. Live journalism is uniquely positioned to attend to these shifts.

Living with Drones | Stories from Gaza on the assault on life, land and livelihood
Performed by stitched! | Creative School at Toronto Metropolitan University
Living with Drones is an interactive live journalism show about the devastating and traumatic impacts of Israel’s use of drones in the besieged Gaza strip. By tying together personal narratives and documentation about the on-the-ground reality of this genocide, this show weaves a compelling narrative that asks audiences to engage with violations of humanitarian and international law in Gaza since October 2023.
Enric Marco, Spain's greatest impostor
Performed by François Musseau | Diario Vivo Madrid
In May 2005, Musseau travelled to the suburbs of Barcelona to visit 84-year-old Enric Marco in his small house on the outskirts of the city for his newspaper, Liberation. For decades, he had been telling the Spanish people about the Nazi death camps better than anyone else, in high schools and in the media. His imposture had just been exposed. It was up to Musseau to sit down with him, listen to him, ask the right questions, and try to understand the unbelievable: an entire life woven from lies.
Headliner
Performed by Christine Liehr and Christoph Herms | Headliner Berlin
In an attempt to counter widespread news fatigue, Headliner Berlin combines culture and journalism in stage productions that aim to portray and bring back the joy of reporting!
A bad day for South Africa, a great day for international journalism
Performed by Zanele Mji | Freelance journalist, South Africa
In May of this year, president Donald Trump of the United States ambushed president Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa with claims of ‘white persecution’ during a meeting in the Oval Office that raised eyebrows across the world. Mji takes us back to that day and performs an account of the journalistic perspective on the matter.
